Hi! I'm Hyunwoo
Developer & Entrepreneur
Born in Korea, currently living in Canada.

I am a
Freelancer
"Since I was a student, I've dreamed of changing the world with my vision.
I realized the fastest way to do that was to build my thoughts into reality myself−so I became a Developer. After honing my craft in a big tech company for a while, I dove headfirst into the Startup scene and hustling. But reality soon hit, and so did the bills... which naturally led me to become a Freelancer to survive. As it turns out, I'm actually quite good at it 😅"
Fullstack Software Developer
10+ years"A full-stack veteran with a curiously wide spectrum."
I started my career as a mobile app developer in 2009, back when I was still in college and the smartphone revolution was just beginning. The booming mobile app market in Korea at that time provided plenty of career opportunities, even for a junior engineer like me.
My path then led me to Samsung Electronics, where I spent years working on global-scale backend systems and cloud infrastructure. It was here that I dove deep into distributed systems, microservices architecture, and the complexities of serving millions of users across different regions.
When I moved to the startup world, the role completely changed. There was no luxury of specializing in just one area - if something needed to be built, I built it. Frontend, mobile, DevOps, AI integration - whatever the product needed. This became how I naturally work.
Now my experience spans from embedded software for IoT sensors to cutting-edge LLM Application implementations. Whether it's a straightforward matching service or a complex real-time analytics platform, I focus on understanding the problem and building what works.
Startup Founder
Startup Hustler"10+ Products, 4 Corporations, and many more Hypotheses Tested."
My startup journey isn't a gallery of "Exits" or "Unicorns." It’s a collection of raw survival stories and hard-won lessons. I've spent years in the trenches, testing dozens of hypotheses and launching numerous MVPs just to see what sticks.
Among those many trials, four ventures—softlunch, NOLLAB, josangnim.com, and Tryfifty—reached the point of incorporation. Some didn't find their market and closed down, and some are still running but have changed shape entirely. Each one taught me how to build fast, fail lean, and stay resilient in the face of uncertainty. I don't just build software; I build based on the reality I've faced.
